The Chronicle backs the Oldham Christie Appeal

FORMER Hulme Grammar School pals Justin Nolan and James Wild are poised to tackle a tough three peaks challenge to boost the Christie’s at Oldham appeal.

Justin (27), James and 10 of their friends will leave for Scotland today, ready to start the feat which will involve them scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden in just 24 hours.

Justin, who lives in Moorside, accepted the challenge from James, who lives in Rochdale and wanted to “do something different and raise money for charity” at the same time.

Justin, who works at engineering firm Middleton Sheet Metal, urged people who know he and James to sponsor them for a worthy cause.

They have already been promised more than £750 towards their £1,000 target. Anyone who would like to make a contribution can do so through www.justgiving.com/3peakschallengechristies

TO get help or advice in setting up a fund-raising event, contact the appeals office on 0161-446 3988, visit www.christies.org or text OLDHAM CHRISTIE followed by your name and address to 07971-456824 to receive a fund-raising pack. The pack will have details on how to make sure your money goes to the Christie At Oldham Appeal.

Cheques should be made payable to The Christie (Oldham Evening Chronicle) and sent to the Appeals Office, 555 Wilmslow Road, Manchester, M20 4BX.

If sending cash, enclose a covering letter to say it is for the Christie At Oldham campaign.
