Golfers went crazy in Saddleworth when a miniature set of nine holes was set up inside the clubhouse.
The crazy golf tournament was the idea of Saddleworth Golf Club’s lady captain Anita Scholes, and men’s captain David Pullen, to raise funds for the Evening Chronicle’s £100,000 Christie Appeal.
The £170 raised will help to provide the new radiotherapy unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital which will save long hours of travelling for local patients.
The Christie Appeal is the charity for both captains this year, and members more used to playing golf over 500 yards, had to scale down their sights to a miniature world of windmills, loops, obstacle courses and hump backed bridges. Families and new members were invited to tee off to make sure youngsters were also involved.
