THIS pupil was once reprimanded for sticking pencils in his hair but now he’s using the same idea to raise funds for a teacher’s charity trip to Kilimanjaro.
George Borthwick (11), from St Joseph’s School, Shaw, managed to cram 325 pencils into his curly mop.
Deputy head teacher Steve Hill said: “I told George off for doing this a while ago and when he heard about my challenge he came back and suggested it as an idea to raise funds.
“He raised £55 which will go to the Christie appeal for which I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro on July 24.”
