Swine flu all-clear in Greenfield
Date published: 07 July 2009
A suspected case of swine flu at a Greenfield primary has proved to be a false alarm.
A midday supervisor at St Mary’s School, Manchester Road, who became ill last Monday, originally tested positive for swine flu. However, further tests by scientists at Manchester Royal Infirmary ruled out the condition yesterday
But the call to the school came 15 minutes after pupils had gone home with letters from head teacher Helen Rowland, giving them the news and health protection advice. Today parents will be given a fresh letter explaining the situation, and that the tests have now proved negative.
