AN Oldham company has sold three cars it supplied to footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, in the wake of his record-breaking £80 million transfer to Real Madrid.

Vehicle Consulting, in Cobden Street, Chadderton, has supplied six vehicles to the Portuguese winger during his time in England with Premiership champions Manchester United.

Following his world record switch to Spain, the player asked Martin Thomas and Mark Rouse, who both live in Dobcross, to dispose of his Bentley Continental GT Speed, worth around £115,000, a Porsche valued at £69,000 and a “bargain” Mercedes at around £11,000.

Martin, who set up Vehicle Consulting seven years ago at Booth House, off Suthers Street, before moving to Falcon Business Centre in Chadderton, was introduced to Ronaldo through other footballers.

The business has around 200 players as clients, including many from the Premiership.

He said: “We were introduced to Cristiano around four years ago by other clients and he has always been pleasant and polite and excellent to deal with.

“He likes his cars and he has been a good customer over the years.”

This week Martin was locked in talks with the manager of a top Premiership club with a view to doing a deal to supply vehicles.

The company’s first footballer on the books was Blackburn Rovers midfield man David Dunn.
