Spot checks on drivers

DRIVERS were pulled over by police on Wednesday during spot safety checks on Broadway.
Officers were positioned along the main road heading towards the Elk Mill roundabout from 8am to 8pm.
Officers used Automatic Number Plate Recognition and police spotters to select vehicles and check licences, insurance and vehicle safety.
The spot checks werepart of a day of action that Greater Manchester Police stages every few months.
