YOUNG author Ambia Khatun has already started to build a following with the first of a six-book series, “Black Dragon — Newborn Warriors”.
The Grange School pupil joined her sister, Safsana Khatun and mother, Razia Khan, to hand over a copy to the Mayor and Mayoress of Oldham, Jim McArdle and Kay Knox.
The civic leaders invited the 14-year-old, who got her writing inspiration from children’s author JK Rowling, to meet them at the Mayor’s parlour.
The book, which now has pride of place on the Mayor’s bookcase, is available online at www.amazon.co.uk and www.tesco.com
It is the culmination of five years of work by the teenager, who first put pen to paper to when she was just nine years old.
The book will also be translated into Bangla and distributed in Bangladesh after its launch at the Boi Mela book festival in Khaka next year.
