Freya’s flowers scoop an award

LITTLE Freya Baxter is blooming marvellous when it comes to supporting Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The four-year-old’s decorated daffodil pot in aid of the charity was chosen as the best in Greater Manchester.
Freya was among the youngsters at Spring Meadows Children’s Centre, Littlemoor, who were given a bulb to grow at home as part of a fundraising activity for Marie Curie.
They also decorated the paper pot sleeves, raising £340 in donations from family and friends.
Teacher Pat Hewitt said: “We thought it would show the children how to care for something — that’s why we chose Marie Curie.
“They all had a great amount of fun and learned a great deal.”
