OLDHAMERS were treated to a taste of the Tatton Flower Show thanks to a stunning floral display with a real wow factor.
The council’s award-winning florist Graeme Gibson has designed the display in Market Place.
The display represents a book telling the Bloom and Grow story, Oldham’s entry into North-West in Bloom.
Councillor Jackie Stanton, deputy council leader said: “Oldham has a reputation for floral excellence and has won many awards for its displays at Tatton over the years.
“We wanted to bring Tatton to citizens and show them the high quality work and imagination that goes into a floral feature.
“We are exceptionally lucky to have a great many talented staff who take real pride in their work and who have the skills to produce such beautiful displays for everyone to enjoy.”
North-West in Bloom judges are set to visit Oldham in late July and will be marking against five criteria — floral displays, permanent landscaping, conservation and recycling, local environmental quality and public awareness.
The display will stay in the town centre until the end of the season.
