Your Chronicle — backing the £100,000 Christie Oldham appeal

STAFF at Oldham nightclub Liquid and Envy are encouraging clubbers to don their most colourful outfits to raise money for charity.

Friday is UV night and traditionally sees clubbers turn up in bright yellow tutus and electric pink leg warmers.

For a £1 donation to the Christie Appeal at the Royal Oldham Hospital, staff will decorate clubbers faces with UV paint.

General manager Adele Lord said: “We have been running successful theme nights for about a year now and many of our customers get involved. The last time that we carried out face-painting activities for charity we collected over £300 for the Give A Kid a Quid appeal. I thought that it would be great to tie our future themes in with a local charity that I am sure will be well supported by our loyal customers and adds a fun element to our fund raising efforts.”

Future theme nights include a beach party where clubbers can have a go on a 15ft surfing simulator.

Cheques should be made payable to The Christie (Oldham Evening Chronicle) and sent to the Appeals Office, 555 Wilmslow Road, Manchester, M20 4BX. If sending cash, enclose a covering letter to say it is for the Christie At Oldham campaign.
