TALENTED pupils have been showing off their music, art and design skills as part of a national youth celebration.
The creative arts faculty at Hathershaw College of Technology and Sport held a week of performances, music events, fashion shows and art exhibitions during the Shine Festival.
Around 4,000 schools in England took part in the Shine which aimed to recognise the diverse talented of young people.
Paul Collard from the organisation explained: “Every young person has something to offer and a contribution to make to society and the economy, whether they are young dancers, leaders or scientists.
“Too often young people are seen in a negative light and this is a great opportunity for them to be in the spotlight for all the right reasons.”
