BREAKING cover . . . making a dash for it
PUPILS from Kaskenmoor School, Hollinwood, were given a taste of Army life as part of their annual “super learning week”.
The programme enabled young people in Year 8, 9 and 10 to learn new activities outside of their normal curriculum.
This year, the British Army agreed to once again whip the youngsters into shape with bridge building, paintballing and tackling an assault course.
Sgt Brett Faulkner, from the Oldham Army Careers Information Office (ACIO) said: “We did something similar with the school last year, but it was nowhere near this size and scale.
“It gave them a chance to learn more about the Army and to interest them in the great outdoors and the fun you can have keeping fit.
“We also made them think about how to work and plan as a team. We’ll definitely be coming back next year.”
