POPULAR teacher Jim Leonard will miss his colleagues and pupils when he retires after 15 years at Blackshaw Lane Primary.
But the 60-year-old is looking forward to devoting more time to his photographic hobby, travelling and carrying out charity work.
As a parting gesture, Mr Leonard — who has worked in education for 35 years — helped pupils to create a drama “A Trip Down Memory Lane”.
He said: “I will greatly miss the childrens’ creativity. I always enjoy the fact that they will try their best with anything you give to them. I have also made some great friends during my time at Blackshaw Lane and I will miss my colleagues.”
Head teacher Angela McCormick said: “We wish him a very long and happy retirement with our very best wishes.” Mr Leonard is pictured with some of his Year Six pupils.
