CELEBRATIONS were in order for the 60th anniversary of Failsworth Townswomen’s Guild.
Oldham Mayoress Councillor Kay Knox joined members and special guests to cut an anniversary cake during a celebratory lunch party. Guests included Sue Smith, national chairman of Townswomen’s Guilds, and Betty Broadbent, vice-chairman of the North Manchester Federation of Townswomen’s Guilds.
The Failsworth guild, established in 1929, also received a message of congratulations from Princess Anne, patron of Townswomen’s Guilds, and greetings from the Queen.
