BLOOM and grow, upped and gone: thieves made off with this giant plant label
VANDALS have stolen part of the town centre’s stunning North-West in Bloom entry.
They have made off with a giant name tag with Bloom and Grow (pictured) written on it.
The popular display in Market Place was designed by the council’s award-winning florist Graeme Gibson and features a large book surrounded by glasses, plant pots, pencils and flowers.
CCTV footage is being checked and a disappointed Glen Dale, Oldham’s horticultural services manager, is appealing for the return of the stolen item.
He said: “This took four or five weeks to construct. A lot of work has gone into it for someone just to walk away with part of it.”
