£10,000 bat survey
Date published: 22 July 2009
Empty homes due to come down in Derker and Werneth will be surveyed for bats at a cost of £10,000.
Over 320 properties will be studied because they are due to be demolished in the next year after voluntary negotiations with owners. The bat survey is needed because they are a protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.
