SIX green-fingered gardeners have been named winners of the Saddleworth In Bloom competition.
The judging was carried out by the chairman of the Parish Council Mrs Alma McInnes, local gardening expert Frank Ashton and members of the Parish Council special projects sub-committee, Councillors Bill Cullen, Keith Begley and Pat Lord.
The group visited gardens across Saddleworth to judge the best large, medium, small and container garden, and the best blooming pub. First prize in the Best Container Garden category went to Richard Dawes, from Springhead, while Best Community Garden went to Sheila Cronley, Greenfield.
Best Blooming Pub was won by The Hanging Gate, Diggle.
The winner of the Best Small Garden was Edward Butterworth, from Greenfield, while Best Medium Garden went to Thomas Adamson, Grasscroft, and Best Large Garden was won by Harry and Val Pinkerton, from Greenfield.
