Tasty world tour at inn

Guests at a Saddleworth inn’s food and drink event really chilled out — with unique vodkas from the world’s top distillery.

More than 250 discerning food and wine lovers sampled 120 wines from around the world and a selection of vodkas at the glittering event at the White Hart at Lydgate.

Vodka expert Niel Monyard displayed flavours including liquorice, coffee, vanilla and mandarin.

In addition, guests sampled tapas, oysters, sausages and cheese — including specialist hand-made varieties from former “Coronation Street” actor Sean Wilson, who recently launched the Saddleworth Cheese Company

Sean said: “My cheeses have gone down really well with guests.”

The wines were supplied by Winos, of George Street, Oldham.
