Serguei presses all right buttons

A MUSICAL masterclass by accordionist Serguei Pachnine was held at the Rock Street Resource Centre as part of this year’s Festival of Diversity.
The Russian vocalist and musician is master of the button accordion, which uses buttons rather than a keyboard on the side of the instrument.
Mr Pachnine has been at the heart of the East European music community since he arrived in London in 1996 and is the founder member of the legendary violin-led group Loyko.
He has performed for many famous stars including Sting and Elton John and frequently appears at the Glastonbury Festival.
Mr Pachnine performed for members of the Oldham Open User Forum, a group of mental-health service-users and their carers, on behalf of Music in Hospitals. The charity provides 4,000 concerts a year to people restricted by illness or disability.
