THE Heyside Juniors will get the chance to meet a football legend when they enjoy a kickabout at Wembley Stadium.
The Under 10s youngsters will join hundreds of children from around the country at The FA/McDonald’s National Football Festival on August 6.
Legendary 1966 World Cup hero Sir Geoff Hurst will be meeting the players, and they will also receive expert tuition from former Manchester United youth team coach Eric Harrison, who shaped the careers of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes.
Heyside Juniors won their place at the festival through McDonald’s club twinning programme, in which restaurants provide support to local teams.
Sir Geoff, McDonald’s director of football, said: “McDonald’s community programme continues to go from strength to strength and the national festival provides a fitting finale to a fantastic summer of McDonald’s Football open days across the country.
“It’s also great to involve some of the 13,000 community coaches who work tirelessly to provide children all over the UK with access to free qualified coaching.”
