Gas main replacement suspended
Date published: 29 July 2009
WORK to replace gas mains in Limeside Road and Coal Pit Lane has been suspended while similar work is carried out in Manchester to avoid the possibility of affecting gas supplies.
Councillor Mark Alcock, cabinet member for environment and infrastructure, said the next phase of work would take place outside Limehurst Primary School and is expected to be completed during the school holidays. There will also be a delayed start to work programmed for Coal Pit Lane.
Anyone requiring further information should contact the National Grid helpline on 0161-703 1000.
