Taking to the water
Date published: 30 July 2009
TEAM building . . . (from the left) Caine Lynch, Oliver Rattigan, Henry Kearns, Taylor Barry and instructor Dave Faulconbridge take to the water.
THERE’S no sitting around watching TV or playing computer games for these adventurous youngsters during the school holidays.
Instead they took to Strinesdale Reservoir for a crash course in kayaking from instructor Dave Foulconbridge.
Armed with all the necessary safety gear, the group learned the skills needed to kayak safely, including how to recover after capsizing.
Activities organised by Oldham Countryside Service will be taking place throughout the summer. Contact Ruth Dodds on 0161-620 8208 to find out more.
