FAST FOOD - car park plan

Plans for a fast food drive-through in Failsworth centre go before councillors on Wednesday.

The restaurant will be on the car park at the junction of Sisson Street and Oldham Road, near the grade II listed Regent Mill.

The application is for outline permission only for a single storey, rectangular building with a 19-space car park next to the Rochdale Canal.

Officers recommend approving the plans, but with strict protection for the canal.

There have been three objections from local people.
