Charlie Maslen: Keepy Up champion
ACTIVE youngsters spent a week taking part in a host of sports as part of a Bat N’ Ball Summer School at Hulme Grammar School, Chamber Road.
Over 100 boys and girls of all ages signed up for a week’s worth of fun and enjoyed activities including football, cricket, American sports and tennis.
Charlie Maslen was the champion of the Keepy Up and at the end of the week the sporty youngsters were awarded prizes and a Bat N’ Ball T-shirt.
Billy Bolton, head of PE and course organiser, said: “We have been running the course for 14 years and it is always very popular as the children try new sports and learn new skills. Two members of the team Peter Wood, the former head of PE, and John Potts, the overall organiser, have retired this year so I would like to thank them for all their hard work.”
Meanwhile, budding Beckhams brushed up their dribbling, passing, tackling, crossing and shooting with Stephen Roberts, of Oldham Athletic Community Trust .
