£86k to fund lap-tops
Date published: 03 August 2009
THE free lap-top programme will be extended to children in care and at the Pupil Referral Unit — for pupils who cannot attend school — with an £86,000 grant which has to be spent by the end of August.
The £1.26 million initiative uses a Government grant for home access to a lap-top computer and the internet at home to secondary pupils under 16 who live in the most deprived wards or qualify for free school meals.
