Survey into dentists’ services
Date published: 03 August 2009
A SURVEY to find out how easy it is for disabled people to access dentists’ services has been circulated in Oldham.
A working group from Oldham’s Local Involvement Network (LINk) produced the survey which was sent to 83,000 households.
The working group wants to know how accessible dental practices are; gather accurate information about disabled people and their carers; and examine if dental practices prioritise disabled patients.
The results are being analysed and recommendations will be made to NHS Oldham, which provides frontline services.
A report, considered by councillors last week, said: “Many of the surveys have indicated other issues around dentistry services that are felt need to be addressed.
“The LINk’s work with the Multiple Sclerosis Society showed that members of its Oldham branch too had identified this was a problem issue and so targeted information gathering will be completed with this group.”
