Oldhamer Peter Green moved like a Bat out of Hell to enjoy a new life on the sun-drenched Mediterranean island of Cyprus — as a Meat Loaf tribute act.
The 52-year-old said the chance to perform — and make a living out of —belting out classic Meatloaf favourites in Protaras in the Paralimni district of Cyprus, was too good an opportunity to turn down.
He added: “I am not a massive Meat Loaf fan —but there is a lot of satisfaction in seeing an audience appreciate what I do on stage.”
Peter moved to the swealtering holiday island two years ago with his wife, Lesley (42) and 13-year-old son, Jack, a former Royton and Crompton school pupil.
Now, under the stage name Peter Young, he is a big hit in the local bars where he performs up to 10 times a week.
