FIRST stop, New York — that was the exciting cry at Shawside nursing home, when residents were treated to a virtual world cruise.
Old folks got a taste of the Big Apple in the first day of a whirlwind tour, where they experienced different destinations through music, games and food.
Breakfast on day one was New York-style with piles of pancakes and blueberry muffins. And the latest stop was India, where staff wearing traditional dress brought a spot of Eastern delight to the home.
Manager Joan Walton said: “Everyone deserves a holiday and with so many of our residents unable to travel anymore, we’re doing the next best thing.”
