Chance to make an imPACT

RESIDENTS from across Failsworth and Hollinwood are being urged to have their say on community matters at the new PACT meetings next week.
New members and familiar faces can report community issues affecting their lives at the new Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meetings.
Otherwise known as ward forums, the PACTs give residents a chance to speak out in an informal setting.
Minor issues will be dealt with by task leaders, while more serious or strategic matters will be tackled by the Area Action Team or District Partnership.
In attendance will be local councillors, police, and partners including housing providers, crime reduction officers and anti-social behaviour officers.
John Norris, neighbourhood manager, said: “At both meetings we will start with a round up of last year’s final accounts and then hold a workshop.
“Small groups will be able to discuss issues affecting them and these will be reported back to the main group to decide on appropriate action.
“We are looking for a good turnout at both meetings and would urge people from across both districts, including residents from Garden Suburb and Collier Hill, to attend.
“It is about all communities having a voice and raising concerns.”
Failsworth PACT will be held on Monday at 7pm at New Life Church, Thorley Street and the Hollinwood PACT on August 12 at 7pm at Walkers Road Community Centre, Hollinwood.
