Former Chronicle tea lady dies at 100

AN Uppermill centenarian, and former Oldham Evening Chronicle tea lady, has died. Alice Cheetham, formerly of Willow Bank, died last Saturday at Shaw Side Nursing Home.
The great-grandmother, born in Hollinwood, celebrated her 100th birthday last October and credited honey on her morning toast for staying fit and healthy.
The funeral will take place on Monday at St Anne’s Church, Lydgate at 10.45am.
