Driving out burglars
Date published: 06 August 2009
SHOPPERS boarded a police burglary bus to get advice on crime prevention.
Customers at Tesco’s Featherstall Road store and Netto in Huddersfield Road were invited to hop aboard the custom-fitted bus as part of Operation Storm, a police campaign to reduce burglaries and increase detection.
Insp Kevin Rankin of the Oldham East neighbourhood policing team said: “We are targeting known offenders in their homes and disrupting and deterring criminal activity in communities blighted by this heartless crime. I encourage the public to help us in this fight by providing us with information that can help us put these offenders behind bars.”
