THE waiting is over and the search is now on for Oldham’s Top Tot.

The Chronicle’s most popular competition is back once again on a mission to find the borough’s bonniest babies.

And this year, with shopping giants Tesco Extra joining Pontin’s Holidays and the Portrait Group as main sponsors, we are able to offer nearly £3,000 worth of prizes to be won.

Studios have been set up in the Spindles Town Square shopping centre (10am-4.30pm until August 15 except Sunday) and Tesco’s Huddersfield Road store (10am-4.30pm from August 11-16) and parents can take their little ones along to be snapped by a professional photographer for free.

Mums and dads can also go back to the studios to select the picture they would like to appear in the Chronicle’s Top Tots supplement on Wednesday, September 9. There are three age ranges — 0-18 months, 18 months-three years and three-five years. As well as appearing in the Top Tots supplement, three little angels will also claim a top prize.

The winner of each category — as voted for by Chronicle readers — will get £100 in Tesco shopping vouchers, a canvas portrait print worth £250, a four-night family holiday at Pontins, a £50 voucher for Blue Zoo (the new children’s clothing range at Debenhams) a family ticket for Knowsley Safari Park and a £25 Pizza Hut voucher. Tots placed second and third in each category will receive a £50 Tesco voucher.
