Your Chronicle — backing the £100,000 Christie Oldham appeal
GENEROUS fund-raisers at the King Arms pub in Shaw enjoyed a family fun day to help to boost the Christie at Oldham Appeal.
A whole host of activities were held, including pool competition, karaoke, a bouncy castle and a barbecue.
All the fun and frolics raised about £500, although the final total is still to be counted.
Landlady Sheryl Halliday said that her step-mother, who died five months ago, was cared for at the Christie Hospital.
She said: “I wanted to give something back because they do an absolutely fantastic job.
“It was a great day, we were really lucky with the weather and lots of regulars and new faces came down.”
