Man jailed for attacking ex-partner

LEIGHTON Temple claimed he had no recollection of stamping on his ex-partner’s head.
But his terrifying attack on mother-of-two Natalie Flanagan led to magistrates in Manchester sending him to prison for six months.
They heard how Temple (23), of Hollins Road, Oldham, turned violent during a visit to her home at 6am last Saturday.
Joyanne Crisp, prosecuting, said he grabbed her by the hair and threw her to the floor.
Miss Flanagan rolled up in a ball and when she begged him to leave her alone he stamped on her head and back. Temple then smashed up a kitchen work-top.
The court heard Miss Flanagan suffered bad bruising and hair loss.
Temple pleaded guilty to assault causing bodily harm and two counts of damage.
“A prison sentence is inevitable. You left your victim fearing for her life,” the magistrates told him.
The couple split up two years ago but had kept in touch because of their child, said Mrs Crisp.
Temple had smashed windows at the house in March and on two previous occasions last year.
Michael McKeown, defending, said Temple went to the house after waking up in hospital with a stab wound in his arm.
“He cannot remember anything after finishing work on Friday and doesn’t know how he came by his injuries”, added Mr McKeown.
