Schools to meet bidders
Date published: 10 August 2009
PUPILS will be outlining what they want from Oldham’s secondary schools overhaul — to the people who could carry it out.
They will give their views at an event for potential bidders at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on September 9.
It is the first time that schools will meet the people interested in carrying out Oldham’s multi-million pound Building Schools for the Future programme.
Expressions of interest in the scheme to rebuild and refurbish the borough’s secondary schools will then be submitted by Christmas.
Formal bids will be entered in September, 2010, before the preferred bidder is announced in November, 2010.
However, the part of the proposals to replace five schools with three academies is covered by a separate bidding process.
