A YOUTH lost part of his index finger after getting it stuck on a spiked metal fence on Saturday.
The tip of 17-year-old’s right index finger was sliced off up to the first joint, when he jumped over an 8ft high fence at Oldham College, Rochdale Road.
The youth, from Sholver Lane, called Oldham fire crews at 5.32pm and they retrieved the tip which was still stuck on the fence.
He was given oxygen therapy at the scene and taken to the Royal Oldham by police. Paramedics took the remaining digit to the hospital in a sterilised dressing for it to be reattached.
