CATERING staff at the Royal Oldham Hospital have scooped a top award.
The kitchen kings and queens earned the accolade of the North-West’s catering team of the year from the Hospital Caterers Association.
Catering manager, Stephen Lowe, who nominated the Cafe Royal team, said they always had a smile for customers, and had put in a great deal of work to promote healthy eating among patients, visitors and staff.
He explained: “The events took a huge amount of organisation in addition to meeting targets, increasing sales and maintaining a high standard of food quality and customer care.”
The team received its trophy and certificate at the Hospital Caterers Association’s annual summer ball. Pam Stansfield, head of catering at Pennine Acute Trust which runs the hospital, said: “I’m really delighted and proud of the team’s achievement. The staff thoroughly deserve this success.”
