A TOUCH of Hollywood came to came to Oldham when a replica of an iconic Los Angeles sign mysteriously appeared on the M60 embankment.
Drivers were stunned to see 8ft high white letters spelling out “Hollinwood” positioned on the side of the southbound carriageway.
The plywood letters, securely fixed to the ground, appeared at about 5pm on Sunday and were still on show to Monday morning rush-hour commuters.
Mystery surrounds what the sign could represent, with some suggesting it is Oldham’s very own Angel of the North welcoming all to the borough, or a play on the famous emblem because Manchester is twinned with Los Angeles.
All that was needed was a few rays of the famous LA sunshine to brighten Oldham’s very own Hollinwood hills.
