£12,000 tonic for hospice
Date published: 12 August 2009
DR Kershaw’s Hospice is celebrating a bumper payday after a Chadderton firm rustled up a £12,000 donation.
Staff at Ultimate Products, which supplies furniture, toys and other goods, chose the Royton Hospice as its charity of the year and duly set about on a 12-month fund-raising bonanza.
Staff at the company, which is based in the Manor Mill, left no stone unturned in their quest to raise as much money as possible, taking part in the Manchester run, raffles, fund-raising sales and much more. Helen Stack, chairmman of the company’s charity committee, said: “We wanted to support a very well-known local charity, so Dr Kershaw’s was an obvious choice.”
