CAR lovers recalled a golden age of motoring when a fleet of glamorous cars rolled into Uppermill.
Corvettes, Cadillacs, Thunderbirds, Hotrods and Dodges all rallied for attention as visitors enjoyed a snapshot of cars through the ages on the King GeorgeVI playing fields in Uppermill.
This year marks the second visit to Saddleworth by the American Auto Club North-West and the event grows in popularity each year.
Val Kendall, one of the organisers, said: “The show went down really well and it was a lovely day. We also managed to raise £260 for the Saddleworth Special Needs Centre in Springhead, which we were really pleased about.”
A number of trophies were handed out to the best cars on the day, including the Elizabeth Hughes memorial trophy, named after the popular Uppermill resident who died last year, which was awarded to Ken Tipler for his 1930 Ford Model A Coupe, and the Sam Royle memorial trophy, handed to Brian Coles for his F150 Ford truck.
