Date published: 12 August 2009
THE family of a 24-year-old man who died following an accident at a notorious blackspot have paid tribute to him.
Benjamin Jessop from Barnsley, Yorkshire, died after the Hyundai car he was a passenger in was in collision with a bus in Ripponden Road, Moorside, on Monday afternoon.
Mr Jessop was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died a short time later.
His family said: “Benjamin was a lovely son, wonderful brother, devoted grandson, doting uncle and popular friend to many.
“To be robbed of such a great person in such a senseless way has left all the family with a great void that we know will never ever be filled.”
Two people on the bus received minor injuries.
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Witnesses should call traffic police on 0161-856 8473.
