Puppy theft charges
Date published: 12 August 2009
A MANCHESTER woman is accused of stealing two Shih Tzu puppies from an Oldham breeder — and trying to fob her off with counterfeit money.
Gaynor McDonagh (42), of Greame Street, appeared at Oldham Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with two counts of theft and one of passing off counterfeit money as genuine.
She allegedly stole two Shih Tzu puppies from a breeder in Warrington on November 14, 2008, and then another two from a breeder in Oldham on November 19, 2008. She is alleged to have given the Oldham woman £700 in fake £20 notes before fleeing with the dogs.
McDonagh was granted unconditional bail to appear at a committal hearing on October 6 .
