Woman cut free

A 44-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries yesterday after she was cut free from the wreckage of a car by firefighters.
The Fiat Punto and an articulated lorry collided at the junction of Rochdale Road and St Mary’s Way, Oldham.
The Punto ended up on its sideand the firefighters had to remove the roof to free the woman.
The accident happened shortly after noon and firefighters from Hollins and Chadderton carried out the rescue with a specialist rescue team from Ashton.
