Bumper crop of prize blooms and veg

GREEN-fingered Oldhamers could win a cash prize by entering their finest produce into an annual gardening extravaganza.

The 2009 Horticultural Show includes categories in gladioli, roses, flowers, vegetables, confectionery, Arts & crafts and junior classes.

The free event, at All In One Garden Centre in Middleton, takes place on Saturday and Sunday and is open to everyone.

Groundwork will host a number of stalls including face-painting, grow-your-own workshop and craft stalls. There will also be a BBQ demonstration and plant sale for charity.
