THE Mayor of Oldham got the chance to see at first-hand the product range being manufactured by a team of workers at Remploy Oldham.
Councillor Jim McArdle was also joined by MP David Heyes, whose Ashton constituency includes Failsworth and Hollinwood, and the firm’s key business partners.
The site in Ashton Road, Bardsley, is part of Remploy’s Building Products business and supplies UPVC windows and doors for social homes in the North West.
Visiting the site as part of an open day arranged by Remploy, the guests saw the opportunities available to disabled people.
Frances Pearson, commercial operation manager for Remploy said: “We are delighted at the level of support from the communities we serve.
“The open day was a fantastic opportunity to showcase the services our people at Remploy Oldham offer.”
Last year Remploy found jobs in mainstream employment for 7,500 people with a range of physical, sensory and mental disabilities.
By 2012, Remploy will be finding 20,000 jobs each year for people with disabilities and health conditions.
