OLDHAM CHRONICLE: supporting the Christies Oldham Appeal
ANGELA Collier has sent out a big thank you to her supporters for helping her to raise more than £2,000 for the Christie’s at Oldham Campaign.
She and a handful of friends volunteered to be household slaves for the day and auctioned their services off to the highest bidders. They combined the auction with a fund-raising fun day, where men submitted to the pain of having their bodies waxed, artists appeared on stage, and families enjoyed a barbecue and lots more.
The event, at the Old Grey Mare in Royton, raised a huge £1,523, and Angela said: “It was a fantastic day. I am really pleased, and grateful to everyone who helped to make it a success.
Angela, a local WeightWatchers leader, added the takings to the £500 she raised with two coffee mornings at her classes — topping the £2,000 target she had set for herself.
