Pizza the action!

THERE may be hundreds of Pizza Huts up and down the UK, but the big bosses think that the Oldham one has something special.
Thanks to loyal customers and dedicated staff, Oldham’s branch in the Elk Mill retail park has been showered with awards from head office.
And if that were not enough, our local Pizza Hut recently showed the rest of the stores how it is done after being selected to take part in a company training video.
For manager Sarah Clarke it is the icing on the cake after a great year working in Oldham.
“We were thrilled to be asked to take part in the training video, because it’s the first time that the company has done anything like this in the North of England.
“I’m not from Oldham originally, but I’ve had a wonderful experience running a restaurant here and we have found it to be a great business environment.
“Trade has been really buoyant for us, despite the recession, and I’ve loved every minute of working here in Oldham. We had a refurbishment 16 months ago, business is brisk and morale is high.”
And of course, the fact that Oldhamers are still treating themselves in places like Pizza Hut, means that the firm can offer job prospects for locals during the economic downturn.
“We work very closely with the job centre here in Oldham,” said Ms Clarke.
“We recently recruited a new deputy manager through the job centre who had run her own business and if anyone comes in with a CV, we always keep hold of their details and try and offer them something.
“I really enjoy working here and have noticed that there’s a real community spirit in this town. It has been a fantastic year and morale is very high here.”
