Shot Junaid: man is remanded over bullets

A BUSINESSMAN accused of possessing two bullets of the same make and calibre used in the murder of gunned-down Junaid Khan has been kept in custody.

Father-to-be Milad Finn (21), of Lauriston Close, Gatley, appeared at Manchester City Magistrates Court yesterday charged with having the 9mm ammunition without a firearm certificate.

It is alleged the live bullets were found in a teapot at Mr Finn’s home.

He was arrested during police raids last week when detectives executed 10 warrants across Greater Manchester in the hunt for the murderer of Junaid.

The 21-year-old, of Cotton Mill Crescent, Werneth, was shot several times in the car park of a doctor’s surgery in Block Lane, Chadderton, on July 9.

It was the second time Mr Finn, who runs a car valeting company, has been refused bail.

He was remanded in custody to re-appear on September 29, for committal to Manchester Crown Court.

Two other people were arrested during the raids. A 26-year-old woman from Gatley, arrested on suspicion of possession of ammunition and money laundering, has been bailed until October 8 pending further inquiries.

A 21-year-old man from Oldham, arrested on suspicion of possessing ammunition, has been bailed until September 2.

Detectives have yet to establish a motive for the murder and say they are keeping an open mind and reacting to evidence received.

They are currently analysing three bullets, clothes and mobile phones seized, to establish if they are linked to the murder.

They say the community has been co-operative and they are acting on information received.
