THREE pupils from Blue Coat School are flying high after bagging top A-level results.

Jenny Reddish (18), from Grasscroft, is heading for the dreaming spires of Oxford to study archaeology and anthropology after bagging an incredible six A grades. She swept the board in biology, chemistry, English, German and general studies. She even managed to score an A grade in A level Japanese, which she studied at the Manchester College of Art and Technology (MANCAT.) An elated Jenny said: “I put my life on hold to study for these exams.”

Jacqueline Lee-Alker (18), from Ashton, will be heading to St Andrew’s University in Scotland to study medicine after achieving A grades in biology, chemistry, maths and general studies, as well as an A grade in AS further maths. She said: “I definitely don’t agree with people who say that A levels are getting easier. I worked really hard.”

Ben Foster (18), from Mossley, will head to Cambridge to study natural sciences, after gaining A grades in biology, chemistry, maths and general studies, as well as an A in AS further maths.

“I put a lot of work in, but it was worth it in the end,” he said.
