Old-school fun

EGG-and-spoon races met obstacle courses as Hollinwood children harked back to traditional playground games for their holiday fun.
Sessions laid on by the Hollinwood Children’s centre have been a big draw, with 100 children turning up twice a week all summer to take advantage of arts and crafts and rough and tumble fun.
Family service co-ordinator at the centre, Alison Leighton, said: “Feedback from parents has been very encouraging.”
Two more sessions will run before the end of summer — the first is tomorrow at Holy Family School in Lime Green Road and the second will run on Thursday at Lyndhurst School in Heron Street. Both run from 1 to 3pm.
